The big companies and corporations also do their part from time to time by giving back to the community. This can be in the form of a scholarship program or grant. The following big names have published some scholarship programs for talented graduates to pursue.

Doodle 4 Google Competition

With a whopping $30,000 award, students can sign up for the Doodle 4 Google competition. Participants should design a doodle about what they see for the future of society. Students can use anything from food to graphic designs. 

The only rule is that all entries should incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. One lucky winner will also receive a $30,000 college scholarship to study at one of North America’s major universities. 

The New York Times College Scholarship Program

Students who attended public or private schools in New York City and who have proven themselves to achieve in the areas of education and community service may be eligible to apply for a $15,000 scholarship. 

The program is aimed at underprivileged individuals with students whose parents have not graduated from American colleges or universities. Applicants need to be US citizens.

Burger King James W. McLamore Foundation Scholarship

The James W. McLamore WHOPPER Scholarship awards successful applicants with an incredible $50,000. These students need to have graduated from high school within the last three years. The pre-requisites for this program are steep. A GPA of 3.3 is required, as well as a 25 ACT score and 1220 SAT score.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program

Finally, the Amazon Future Engineer scholarship program assists students who plan to major in computer science, computer engineering or a similar field of study. Applicants need to have been involved in an active leadership role in community service or similar activity. There needs to be proof of work experience. The grant will be $10,000 for successful applicants.
